Oumed Oukri opened the score for Smouha but Al-Masry players returned in the game with two goals from Aristide Bance and Ahmed Gomaa to win the game 2-1. Al-Masry reached 58 points, six points behind the second placed, Ismaily, but Al-Masry played two games less.
“It was a tough game against one of the best teams in the League but the mentality of the players helped us to return link sbo in the game after Smouha’s first goal,” Hassan told press after the game. Al-Masry still has four games against El Dakhleya, Enppi, Al-Ahly and Ismaily, while Ismaily has only two games against Al Nasr beside the derby against Al Masry.

Al-Masry reached CAF Confederation Cup group stage for the first time in their history after defeating Gabon’s Mounana.
